Doctrine of De'Shar'Mach.

As the Mistress of Night told us to, so did we follow the three snakes deep underground, far away from the grotesque spread of Human Civilization. As the Dark Goddess promised, so were we rewarded with the beautiful caverns surrounding the immense freshwater lake I have now deemed Serpent Lake.
I name it thus both as a symbol of the means by which the Mistress of the Night chose to impart her teachings and powers unto us, and because the lake itself is filled with small snake-like eels that are very tasty, when you can catch them.
The journey here was long and dark, most of our former lives now forgotten. Were I to guess, I would say the salty sea is 2,000 meters above where I sit in the new designated area my Family, the 1st family, now occupies. The Lady of Loss has shown us the way, changing us mentally and physically so that you our children may survive in this place. For no Surface-Dweller could ever, or would ever venture into our land.
And now the Dark Goddess will complete her promise and teach you all a way of life that will allow us to reach our maximum potential. We will live by her creed, and draw through her powers, through the Tri snake avatars that have just cropped up out of the ground at each new Clan’s designated territory. Through these snakes, and the power of Shar they convey, we will grow in power as we are forgotten by the worlds of sunlight.
I write this Doctrine because I myself went to the largest of these Tri-snakes in the island at the center of the lake. I was drawn there by it’s power. To my surprise, the immense Grey snake clamped right down onto me before I could react. I found myself unharmed inside the giant serpent’s mouth. Thoughts filled my head and the Holy mistress spoke to me, I did not hear her voice, but I felt her holy presence and understood her wishes exactly, but how she imparted them so clearly I cannot know.
She made me understand how we were to be a part of accelerated Evolution. The simple laws she set forth are all designed for survival of the fittest. We must master the darkness, and the art of secrets.
For we have suffered through great loss, but the Dark Goddess will teach us to be stronger. Not relying on the past, but reacting to the present. When we evolve into what the Goddess wishes, having lost all our old weaknesses and becoming a powerful race, we will be able to sweep across the worlds of sunlight.
When time of the Great Revenge comes, we shall help the Mistress bring the darkness to all of the Realms. From the shadows we will spread false secrets and loss to all the nations and lands blessed by the enemies of the Dark Goddess.
The Mistress true designs we cannot presume to fully understand. But her laws will show us the way. It is through her we now live, and without her we will certainly perish.
The Prime commandments of De'Shar'Mach:
I. There shall be 30 Clans, each comprised of Families. Families will be grouped by generation, The name of the 1st Drow of a Family generation will have a name beginning with A, the next child's name will begin with B, then C and so on. Once the Z child is named, the next child will be A and begin a new Family generation.
II. Only the top 4 Clans and the Followers of the TriSect of the Serpent will be chosen to spread the Great Revenge. If your Clan is not in the top 4 then you must strive and plot to supplant the Clans above you, but you must never get caught doing so openly. Likewise Top 4 Clans must remain constantly vigilant against secret plots against their own power.
III. There shall be 5 Nobles in each Clan. Prince, Princess, High Cleric, Weapon Master, and Magus.
Prince and Princess share power equally, the Prince and Princess of the 1st Clan are known as the King and Queen and shall have total rule over all the City.
All Nobles must be of the same generation. Killing a Noble is an open declaration of an attack. If all 5 Nobles of a Clan are killed that Clan has been defeated and the attacking Clan will supplant them. All Families will move up in rank accordingly. The TriSect will oversee all these political adjustments.
IV. After the death of any Noble The surviving Nobles have 3 serpent cycles (days) to prove the murder/attack. If they can reach and implicate another Clan to the Temple of the TriSect, then the attacking Clan has failed. Failure will result in the Unleashing of the Enforcers of the Shade, led by the fearsome Paladins of Slaughter.
V. No Drow may kill a member of his/her own Clan or Family for reasons of political advancement or for no good reason at all. Killing them out of jealousy, hatred, or revenge is perfectly acceptable. Killing a Drow not of your family or Clan is subject to judgment by any member of the TriSect. Again, Killing anyone out of Self-defense, jealousy, hatred, or revenge is perfectly acceptable in most cases.
VI. To encourage breeding, and maintain a certain level of passion in our new lives, Monogamy is outlawed. No less than 3 sexual/emotional mates may couple at any time. Anyone caught in a solely monogamous relationship can be killed on sight by either a former lover of either Drow or any follower of the TriSect.
VII. Inbreeding is allowed from a sexual standpoint, but any child born of inferior or un-mixed genes will be killed immediately by the TriSect. All children born of parents from opposing Clans will always stay with the Mother’s Clan.
VIII. Drow of each of the 6th Family generation of their respective Clans are responsible for the care of all youths until they reach the age of 20.
IX. This record I scribe on this rocky outcrop shall be the last and only written record ever kept of history. The past is meaningless, and must be forgotten in order to become stronger in the now.
X. No marked follower of the TriSect may be killed, except out of revenge, or if they happen to be a Clan Noble at the time your Clan attacks them.
XI. Each Clan must build a Circular Black alter surrounding the Tri-Snake avatars that now reside in their territories. These round Black alters should be raised with a single Purple step ringing the entire circle. Temples of the TriSect shall be built, one south of Snake Island, and one within each Clan’s areas.
XII. The King and Queen share power as the political rulers of the city. The Trisect of the Serpent speaks for the Snakes, and therefore for Shar herself. They are removed from the politics, except in the case of a Clan Noble.
XIII. All laws above will be enforced by the TriSect of the Serpent. Any matters not addressed in the above laws will be judged and formulated by the TriSect of the Serpent.
These rules I set forth unto you my children, for it is you that will need to follow them. For, all of us of the Eldest generation must depart you now.
As per our agreement with the Dark Goddess, we must give our own lives to the Grey Snake, so that it may keep the power of Shar connected to our land, This Underground City I name De’Shar’Mach.
So fare you well, my children, the Mistress of Loss will help you forget past woes, and help you harness powers some on this world could never dream of.
